Mental Health in Schools Team (MHST)

At Livingstone Road Primary School, the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) plays an important role in helping children feel happy, confident, and ready to learn. MHST supports children and young people who may be experiencing worries, low mood, anxiety, or other emotional challenges. They offer a range of low-intensity interventions, including group and one-to-one support, as well as practical strategies that children can use in their everyday lives.

The MHST helps children and young people understand their emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills. Their presence in school means that support is accessible, familiar, and embedded within the nurturing environment we create for all our pupils.

Our MHST colleagues also work closely with families, teachers, and other professionals to ensure children receive joined-up support. They provide guidance for parents and carers, offer advice to staff, and help us foster a school culture where wellbeing is prioritised. Together, we make sure every child at Livingstone Road Primary feels supported, understood, and able to thrive.
