Governance

The work of our Governors is very important to our schools. Livingstone Road Infant School and Livingstone Road Junior School share a single local governing body that has responsibility for both schools, having federated in 2015.

Our aim is to improve the outcomes for all children by sharing our expertise, making sure we have the right resources and facilities, as well as ensuring a seamless transition from Infant to Junior School. We’re committed to supporting the headteacher, staff and children in setting and maintaining very high standards and the constant pursuit of improvement.

As a governing body, we pride ourselves on delivering the ethos of the school – Together we can – Learn, Laugh, Dream and Grow. We ensure the school provides the very best for the children by continually monitoring all aspects of school life. It is important we check how well the school is managed and led, but we also support and challenge our leaders. We will check how well the children are doing and how money is spent.

Being a governor is a rewarding way to make a difference. It requires commitment and an interest in school life. A governor will be contributing to the future of our community’s children and are recruited based on their skills. Our focus is to recruit governors with skills that will enhance and strengthen our governing body. If you are interested, please contact me as Chair of Governors via the school office.

There may be several instances when you will see us – this may be at parents’ evening or at other school events, and your children will see us on visits during the school day.

Governor biographies

My name is Kirsty and I am the Foundation Lead and Early Reading Lead at Livingstone Road. I am lucky enough to have worked at the Federation for 9 years.
I have a passion for early education and love seeing the children thrive through play-based learning.
Our Federation is incredibly special and I am so proud of what we offer our young people from 2 year olds all the way up to Year 6.
I joined the Governors Team to ensure that I can represent staff views and support the development of the school.
Outside of school I like to spend time with my husband and daughter. We love going on adventures, finding big hills to climb and enjoying the outdoors.

It is an honor to be part of the governing body at Livingston Road Primary Foundation as a Parent Governor.
As a parent of a child in year 6 and and older child now studying for A levels at 6th form I have a strong personal investment in the continued success and development of the school. I am passionate about helping the school continue to be a place where children feel happy, supported and inspired.
As an NHS Manager I have experience in leading and supporting an effective team, as well as an understanding of working within the public sector and the challenges and rewards that can bring.

I am committed to helping the school continue to provide a posative, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
