What is Wellbeing?

At Livingstone Road Primary, wellbeing sits at the heart of everything we do. We want every child to feel safe, valued, and ready to learn, and we know that children flourish when their emotional, social, and physical needs are supported. Our approach ensures that every child is known as an individual and encouraged to grow in confidence, resilience, and self-belief.

Our school community is built on strong relationships. Children are supported by trusted adults who listen, understand, and guide them through challenges with care and consistency. Through nurturing classrooms, positive routines, and a culture of kindness, we help children develop healthy coping strategies and the skills they need to manage their emotions and build strong friendships.

Wellbeing at Livingstone Road Primary extends beyond the school gates. We work closely with families and local partnerships to ensure children receive joined-up support at home, in school, and within the wider community. By working together, we create a secure foundation that enables every child to engage fully in learning and grow into a confident, compassionate member of our school family

BACES

The BACES wellbeing initiative is a practical, five‑step framework designed to support positive mental health by encouraging individuals to care for their Body, set and accomplish Achievable goals, Connect with others, Enjoy meaningful activities, and Step Back to gain perspective. These simple daily actions—such as prioritizing sleep, healthy eating, regular exercise, realistic goal‑setting, social connection, and moments of reflection—help build emotional resilience and overall wellbeing.
Our school is actively engaging in the programme, using the BACES approach to promote healthier routines and equip students with strategies that support balance and positive mental health
